Great majority of our patients are discharged on the day of operation; they do not stay in the hospital. It might be that you feel yourself very good after you leave the hospital, but do not drive in the traffic, if possible go back home in escort of a relative. On the day of your discharge and later, you may climb up stairs, lift weight up to 5kg if necessary. But if there is a kid or a grand child, don’t lift him/her. It is normal that you feel light exhausted the day after the operation. This situation is due to the stress hormones, distributed due to the operation and the effect of the anaesthesia, do not worry. There is no special diet following this operation. You may return to your living and nutrition habits prior to the operation directly. If there should be any medicaments you used previously, you may immediately use them, except blood diluting ones. As the effects of aspirin and other blood diluters vary, please consult us in order to start with these medicaments. That you turn back to your work in shortes time is among the primary goals of our centre. Two of the factors which have an effect on this: 1-The decision of if whether Open or Closed Method 2-Your profession, what for a working environment you have. You can obtain your individual turn-back-to-work information from your physician. Commonly, you can be back at work in 1-3 days after laparoscopic surgeries, 3-5 days after open surgeries. For those, who work in majority with their body, this term may be longer at open operations. The turn-back to sportive activities like running, swimming, riding bicycle is in general after open surgeries 4-6 weeks, after closed surgeries 1-2 weeks. For weight-lifting and other heavy sports, please consult your physician. As self-absorbing seams are used at our patients, there is no need to remove seams. When you are called for a control, meaning the first day you will come to the hospital upon operation, you may take your shower without removing your dressing. There is problem that the wound area gets slightly wet. At the first control, the dressing will be opened and the wound will be left open; there is no need for dressing afterwards. Whilst being discharged, you will get a prescription, a simple analgesic and an antibiotic with wide range will be ordered. Again on the same prescription your first control date will be indicated. Please take your medicine as advised regularly. Do not forget to note the cellular phone numbers of the physicians who performed your surgery when leaving the hospital. In any unexpected situation, do not hesitate to consult your physician.
